Newfoundlanders and Labradorians can experience the spirit and enthusiasm of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games by attending one of four regional celebrations being held in St. John’s, Gander, Corner Brook and Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Each celebration will be family-focused, include local entertainment, and provide the opportunity for participants to watch the live feed of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Victory Celebration Showcase. For residents who cannot attend a regional celebration, NTV will also be airing the Newfoundland and Labrador Victory Celebration Showcase live from Vancouver.
Schools and students across the province will be showing their Olympic spirit by participating in the 2010 Living Healthy Commotions. Organized each year by teachers and students in schools throughout the province, this year’s commotions include events and activities that support healthy living and focus on the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games - friendship, fair play, and the pursuit of excellence.
