Bridge the gapp

If you are finding it difficult to cope or feel anxious, Bridge the gapp offers many services to support you and your wellbeing.

Provincial Lifewise Warm Line

If you are feeling isolated and alone during COVID-19, you are encouraged to reach out and speak with a trained mental health peer supporter.

  • 1-855-753-2560 9:00am to 12:00am daily.

Note that, due to large call volumes, you may be prompted to leave a voice mail. Lifewise will return your call with a blocked phone number to protect your privacy. The Warm Line is a Mental Health Support Service.

811 HealthLine

Experiencing a mental health and addictions crisis? Call 811.

811 HealthLine nurses are available 24/7 to listen, provide support, and connect you to health services in your area. If you are experiencing a mental health and addictions crisis, need support, or are looking for health information, contact 811.

  • Press 8-1-1 on a Newfoundland and Labrador cell phone or landline.
  • Out of Province cell phones will not connect to 811. Please use a landline.
  • If you use “Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)” or web-enabled telephone services like Canada VRS, Skype or Google Talk, 811 may not connect. Instead, call 1-888-709-2929 to reach the HealthLine.

Text and Video Relay Service (VRS) lines are available for individuals who may be hard-of hearing, identify as having communication disability, or are Deaf:

Mental Health and Addictions Systems Navigator

Are you having difficulty navigating the mental health and addictions system or connecting with a service? Our Navigator is a central point of contact for individuals, family members and stakeholders throughout the province to problem solve so you can figure out next steps, consider options and find the right mental health or addiction service, and get help in making connections.

  • Call 752-3916 or 1-877-999-7589 from 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Video Relay Service (VRS) calls are welcome.

Crisis Text Line (powered by Kids Help Phone)

Talk to a trained volunteer Crisis Responder who will help with any issues – big or small. The service is free, confidential, and available 24 hours a day.

Kids Help Phone

Kids Help Phone offers free telephone and texting support to children and youth, 24 hours a day in French and English. Youth can be anonymous and will receive professional counselling, information and referrals.

SeniorsNL

For seniors and individuals who support seniors, SeniorsNL is a resource that is available throughout the province.

Provincial Opioid Toll-Free Line

Eastern Health has launched a temporary information line to help individuals navigate the system and connect with opioid addiction supports and services. The line is intended for those receiving Opioid Dependence Treatment, those seeking support for their opiate use, their families and health care providers.

  • Call 1-844-752-3588 from 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

2SLGBTQIA+ Warm Line

Planned Parenthood has launched a peer support service run by and for 2SLGBTQIA+ people in Newfoundland and Labrador. The line provides a safe space for 2SLGBTQIA+ people who are seeking help or someone to talk to.

211 is an information and referral service that connects Newfoundlanders and Labrodorians to critical human, social, community and government supports. The service is free, confidential, and available 24 hours a day in 170 different languages.
