Student Support Services - Pathways Forms and Summary

These forms guide the school team when developing the student’s program. The development of this program is the responsibility of the school. Parents/guardians are invited to provide input into the decisions regarding accommodations, modifications, or alternate programming. In the case of a student requiring support from other agencies, an Individual Support Services Plan (ISSP) may be required.

More detailed information regarding Pathways is available at http://www.ed.gov.nl.ca/edu/dept/sss.htm#Publications in the document Pathways to Programming and Graduation (1998) which is currently being revised. Information regarding the Model for Coordination of Services for Children and Youth with Special Needs, which gives information regarding ISSPs, is available at http://www.mcscy.nl.ca/. This model is also currently under review. Both of these documents are being revised as a result of the government commissioned report "Focusing on Students - The ISSP and Pathways Commission Report." This report, government’s implementation plan, and the news release issued at the time of the report can be accessed online on the main page of the Department of Education website at http://www.gov.nl.ca/edu
