How To Obtain A School Profile

Through the Indicators Project, the Corporate Planning and Research Division in the Department of Education developed the K-12 School Profile System in which a wide range of information on a number of aspects of the K-12 school system is gathered regularly, and incorporated into one major database.  This database can be used to generate a package of core school data for any school in the province.  Included in the profile are data such as:
  • norm-referenced and criterion-referenced achievement test results;
  • senior high school examination results (school-set examinations);
  • graduation rate;
  • school holding power;
  • student attitude and student activity survey results;
  • school and course enrolment information;
  • pupil-teacher ratio;
  • size of instructional groups;
  • extent of multi-grading;
  • teacher experience;
  • teacher turnover; and
  • results of follow-up surveys of high school graduates.

Much of this information is available for a number of years, enabling the profile to indicate enrolment and achievement changes and trends.

To obtain a profile for your school, visit the K-12 School Profile System.
