All hunting is prohibited in all Provincial and National Parks, Migratory Bird Sanctuaries, Salmonier Nature Park and Seabird Sanctuaries.

Hunting, snaring and/or shooting is prohibited on/in Gannet Islands, Lab.; Cape St. Mary’s Seabird Sanctuary; Funk Island; Emberely Island, Long Island, and Jude Island, Placentia Bay; Brent Island, Duck Island and Spring Island, Hare Bay; Brunette Island, Fortune Bay; Birchy Island and Sivier Island, Bay of Exploits; Gull Island, Green Island and Great Island, Witless Bay; Kelly’s Island, Conception Bay; the Codroy Valley Waterfowl Area; Clarenville Canada Goose Sanctuary; Marsh Pond, Daniel’s Harbour; Massey Drive Local Development Area; Foxtrap Closed Area, Reidville-Deer Lake and Cormack Closed Area; Middle Arm Closed Area; Carmanville Waterfowl Sancturary, St. George’s River Closed Area, Stephenville Crossing and Saltwater Pond, Sweet Bay. Trapping and small game snaring is prohibited in the Pine Marten Study Area near Little Grand Lake, Glover Island and the Main River Study Area.

Unless otherwise indicated, all big game hunting on the island of Newfoundland and all moose hunting in Labrador is prohibited on offshore islands. For more information contact your nearest Forestry/Wildlife Office.

Ecological Reserves have prohibitions to hunting except Mistaken Point Ecological Reserve; Watt’s Point Calcareous Barrens Ecological Reserve; Table Point Ecological Reserve; Red Fir Lake Ecological Reserve; Bay du Nord Wilderness Reserve and the Avalon Wilderness Reserve.

Within the province there are designated areas where hunting is prohibited for various reasons. Some of these areas are closed to hunting with the use of firearms only while others are closed to hunting using firearms, snares, or traps.

The following areas are closed to shooting:

	Codroy Valley		Middle Arm, Carmanville
	Cormack		Reidville-Deer Lake
	Clarenville		St. George’s River
	Foxtrap		Saltwater Pond, Sweet Bay
	Marshy Pond		Corduroy Brook, Grand Falls-Windsor
	Massey Drive		Various Regional Pastures between  May 1 and Nov. 30 inclusive annually

	Fitzgerald’s Pond Park		Piccadilly Head Provincial Park (Former)
	Flatwater Pond Park		River of Ponds Provincial Park (Former)
	Grand Codroy Park		David Smallwood Provincial Park (Former)
	Great Southern Harbour  Big Pond		Sop’s Arm Provincial Park (Former)
	Gros Morne National Park		Square Pond Provincial Park (Former)
	Gushue’s Pond Provincial Park (Former)		Terra Nova National Park Golf Course
	Indian River Provincial Park (Former)		Windmill Bight Park
