Making A
Nomination
To nominate an
individual or team, the nominator and seconder must
first obtain the approval of the nominee or each
member of a team, to stand for nomination.
Be sure to have the
nominee or each team member sign the nomination
form. This indicates their approval to stand for
nomination and to have their name and contact
information used internally and externally in all
award related materials concerning nominees and
award recipients.
Follow the checklist
on the nomination form and provide all requested
information to the Selection Committee. Submit the
nomination to the Public Service Award of
Excellence, c/o Office of the Clerk of the Executive
Council.
Employees
volunteering as nomination coaches are available to
answer questions or assist with the completion of
nomination forms. A list of coaches and their
locations and contact information can be obtained
here or by calling 709- 729-3812.
The nomination form
is designed to allow the nominator to provide
information about the nominees' exemplary
performance associated with a position or project,
their positive impact on service delivery or the
work environment, and any additional comments the
nominator believes will assist the selection
committee in making its decision. Please use the
questions provided in the form when completing your
nomination.
All information
submitted on behalf of nominees will be held in
confidence by the selection committee secretary and
members.
Nominees will be
asked if they would like their nomination forms
placed in their personnel files.

Employees are asked
to nominate any fellow employee or team
demonstrating exceptional work performance.
Recipients are selected for their overall
achievements. These guidelines are intended to help
focus your thinking when completing the nomination
form. They are not all-inclusive nor are they
intended as categories.

nomination provide information that demonstrates
excellence in the performance of tasks associated
with the individual’s or team’s work or project. In
addition, show how this work has had a positive

quality of service delivery to clients. Volunteer
activities are not eligible.
