RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Providing professional labour relations advice and services to the Treasury Board Committee of Cabinet, government departments, and public sector organizations to establish and maintain a labour relations environment which facilitates the achievement of government's work objectives;
  
  Achieving negotiated settlements consistent with government's human resource and fiscal priorities;
   
• Optimizing management's ability to effectively deal with labour relations issues;
  
   
• Negotiating collective agreements which achieve a balance between employee rights and needs and government's human resource and fiscal objectives;
   
• Providing professional advice and assistance on dispute resolution and contract management to departments and public sector organizations;
   
• Administers the Human Resources Policy Manual for Government by developing and updating policies and providing authorative interpretation of same to users;
   
• Formulating labour relations policy options and recommendations to the Treasury Board; and providing labour relations training for management.
