Printing and Micrographic Services

All jobs requested to be done by Printing and Micrographic Services require the customer to have a Printing or Microfilming requisition properly authorized before work can proceed. Instant Services jobs, see definition below, can be requested at the counter.

Instant Service

Instant Service is available for photocopying of Black and White and Color originals. These are reproduced on our Xerox 5090, Xerox DT6115 or Xerox DC 40 Pro. This would be for jobs that can usually be turned around in one day. Jobs in this area can range in sheet sizes from 5.5 x 8.5" to 11 x 17".

The customer can bring their job to Printing and Micrographic Services and fill out a counter slip, providing they have an Account Center number.

Pre-Press

Our Pre-Press section is responsible for transforming your job from Electronic or Hard Copy into Electronic or Hard Copy for reproduction.

Original Copy is produced on our HP 5000 series Laserjet printer or output to our CreoScitex Computer to Plate Setter for reproduction in our Pressroom. Some color documents are created electronic and printed on our Xerox DC 40 Pro Color printer.

Press

Original Copy is received from our Pre-Press section as Hard Copy or Plates. Jobs in this area can range in sheet sizes from 3 x 5" to 25 x 18".

The Pressroom is capable of producing high quality Black and White, Spot Color and Process Color documents. These range from Stationery, Posters, Press Kits, Books and Reports.

Bindery

Sheets from the Presses or documents from our Instant Service are assembled and bound in the Bindery.

Finishings currently offered are Perfect Binding (hot glue), Cerlox (Plastic) and Padding. Jobs can also be Shrink Wrapped (wrapped in plastic), Paper Wrapped or Cartoned.

Micrographics

Our Micrographic section is capable of microfilming your documents to 16mm film, 35mm film or micro fiche.

We also process, duplicate, index and jacket film created by other departments.
