Welcome to Newfoundland and Labrador-Canada's newest province
Newfoundland and Labrador warmly welcomes newcomers to its shores and values their social, cultural and economic contributions to the province.

Newfoundland is Canada’s 10th and newest province with the second smallest population in the country. The province is home to the oldest European city in North America.

Our residents enjoy clean air, open spaces in a safe and secure environment. Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are known throughout the country as warm, friendly individuals.

In Newfoundland and Labrador, as in the rest of Canada, everyone enjoys the right to freely express, preserve and develop their ethnic, cultural, linguistic and religious identity. Newcomers can benefit from many services provided by the federal and provincial government to address their specific needs through the Association for New Canadians (ANC).

The ANC, a well established immigrant-serving agency operating since 1979, offers comprehensive settlement and integration services; ESL language training, and career related services to assist newcomers integrating to the province. Additionally, a number of multicultural groups are available in the province to assist you in your transition.

This website provides practical and current information to help you choose Newfoundland and Labrador as your destination. We invite you to spend some time discovering what our province has to offer.
