Historical rainfall amounts were recorded from a rain event that began Sunday evening October 9 or Monday morning October 10, depending upon location, and lasting into the early morning of Tuesday, October 11. Several areas of the province were affected; most notably the central region, the Connaigre Peninsula, and south coast of the island portion of the province.

Department of Municipal Affairs, Fire and Emergency Services is responsible for the administration of the federal government’s Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangements (DFAA) when the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador authorizes a provincial disaster financial assistance program (NL-DFAP) in response to a specific emergency or adverse weather event. This program provides financial assistance related to disaster recovery in accordance with the Federal Government’s DFAA guidelines for eligible events.
