Have a Right to a Safe and Secure Environment ! |
The Government of Newfoundland and
Labrador’s Violence Prevention
Initiative is based on a vision that the people of
our province will live in safe, caring communities where
there is an inherent respect for each other and
violence is unacceptable.
February is a time to raise awareness about
violence in our
communities. The first step to ending
violence in our
communities is for each of us to take personal
responsibility to become more aware of the attitudes that
lead to violence, and to
take action against those attitudes. We must send a clear
message that violent behaviour is not acceptable.
By working together as government and community partners we
can improve services for individuals who have been victims
of violence and educate
all residents of our province about
violence
prevention. Only then can
we reduce violence.
