The department collaborates with community agencies to deliver supports and initiatives to help individuals to prepare for, attain and maintain employment, and make the transition to a new job.

Organizations can apply for program funding online. To do this, you must first register in LaMPSS.

Community Partnership Program (Employment) is intended to provide funding for community agencies and/or
employers to develop, implement and/or deliver programs and services to assist individuals in preparing
for, obtaining, or maintaining employment.

Employment Steps for Success is a pilot program intended to provide funding to non-profit community organizations to develop, implement and deliver career planning and/or employment readiness programming.

Service Agreements for Youth and Students (SAYS) provides funding to non-profit youth-serving organizations (including post-secondary institutions) to assist with the design and delivery of programs and services for youth and students related to furthering their education, employment and career development. Services range from education support to employment initiatives.

Job Creation Partnerships Program is designed to support community-based, not-for-profit projects. These projects will provide EI-eligible participants with opportunities to gain work experience to improve their employment prospects. Project activities should benefit both the participant and the community. The primary focus of the program is to help insured participants who need work experience find ongoing employment.

Wage Subsidy Programs connect employers and employees by providing funding to employers to create sustainable long-term employment or seasonal/short-term employment. The subsidy is intended to offset salary costs to create new positions.

Labour Market Partnership Program provides funding to support development and implementation of labour market strategies and activities for dealing with labour force adjustments and meeting human resource requirements.
