- Individuals interested in writing an examination should review the general examination conditions that govern power engineering examinations.
- Complete the exam application and forward to jamesbrake@gov.nl.ca for approval by the Provincial Power Engineering Examination Committee.
- Once approved, applicants must forward a Power Engineer Exam Registration Form to certificationexams@gov.nl.ca and pay the required examination fee online: click here.
- Applicants will be notified of the exam date, time and location.
- All examinations are facilitated and monitored by departmental officials.
- Examinations are graded under the direction of the Provincial Power Engineering Examination Committee. The committee terms of reference can be found here.
- Applicants are advised of examination results. The results are recorded on the Apprenticeship and Trades Certification Division database, and completed examinations are kept on file for one year.
- Requests for appeals must be submitted in writing to the examination coordinator within one month of the date of notification of examination results.
- Payment of the power engineering exam re-read fee must be paid online: click here.
- Appeals are forwarded to an independent examiner.
- Results of appeals are forwarded to applicant.
