If you received your second dose in Newfoundland and Labrador, please note that it will take up to 72 hours for your vaccination record to be updated. If you do not see your latest vaccination record, please check back again in 72 hours.

15. I am travelling out of the province. Do I need a COVID-19 vaccination record to access certain businesses or activities?

If you are travelling, you are encouraged to check with the province, territory or country of destination for appropriate documentation requirements. You may be required to present your full page PDF COVID-19 vaccination record when travelling within Canada or internationally.

If you are travelling within Canada and you have been fully vaccinated with a Health Canada approved vaccine, you will be able to present your COVID-19 vaccination record QR code to access businesses and settings where proof of vaccination is required (except in New Brunswick). Except for New Brunswick, all provincial and territorial verifier applications can scan your printed or electronic QR code. You can show your QR code using NLVaxPass or a photo of the QR code saved on your mobile device, or a printed copy.

Note: if you were issued a COVID-19 vaccination record QR code due to an approved medical exemption or vaccination with non-Health Canada approved vaccines followed by an mRNA vaccine, your QR code is not readable in other provinces at this time. You should check with the province of destination for documentation requirements.

19. I was vaccinated in Newfoundland and Labrador but I do not have an MCP number. Can I get a COVID-19 Vaccination Record QR Code?

You need to have a valid MCP in order to get a COVID-19 vaccination record QR code. 20. I got my booster shot but it is not displaying in NLVaxPass. What do I do?

If you received another dose of COVID-19 vaccine since you added your COVID-19 vaccination record to NLVaxPass, you need to delete your COVID-19 vaccination record and add a new one. For instructions on how to do this, please see page 10 of the NLVaxPass Quick Reference Guide (“Deleting a COVID-19 Vaccination Record”).

If your current COVID-19 vaccination record indicates a ‘Green Status’ in NLVaxPass, the status will remain green with or without the COVID-19 booster at this time. Your booster dose does not affect your proof of vaccination. Vaccination clinics may document your booster dose electronically or by using paper. To expedite the delivery of COVID-19 boosters, there has been an increase in the paper process, which may cause a delay in your booster displaying on your COVID-19 vaccination record.

As well, the full page PDF will not be available through the Vaccine Portal.  If you are travelling, you are encouraged to check with the province, territory or country of destination for appropriate documentation requirements.
