A Backfill Authorization / Certificate of Approval is issued when the Environmental Health Officer has inspected the sewage disposal system and it appears to comply with the approved plot plans and specifications. This is the final step in the process begun with the the approval of the Septic System and Well. See Septic System Approval (For Less than 4546 L per Day) and Well Approval.
Requirements
After the Septic System and well have been installed in accordance with the approval / plot plan and specifications, the property owner must contact the respective Environmental Health Officer to arrange an inspection prior to the septic system being backfilled.
