- Medical Transportation Supports (MeTS)
The Medical Transportation Supports (MeTS) program is a needs-based, income-tested program that provides support (i.e., travel arrangements, up-front funding, reimbursement) to MCP beneficiaries who must travel for insured medical services unavailable in their home community.
- Medical Transportation Assistance Program (MTAP)
The Medical Transportation Assistance Program (MTAP) provides financial assistance to MCP beneficiaries who are not eligible for MeTS and who must travel for specialized insured medical services unavailable in their home community.

Did you receive a flight pass? Have you submitted a post-travel claim?
You must submit a post-travel claim for MTAP within six (6) months of completing travel to be eligible for future flight passes.
When travelling outside Newfoundland and Labrador, MCP does not cover air ambulance services provided in another jurisdiction. These services are billed directly to you at the jurisdiction’s set rate, and you are responsible for the full cost. MTAP does not assist with these expenses. To avoid these high and unexpected costs, it is strongly recommended that you purchase private travel insurance before leaving the province, even for short trips.
