| Low | Fires starts are unlikely. A Permit to Burn is required to burn grass, brush or other materials. Open fires (e.g. campfires) within 300 metres of forested land are permitted under CONDITIONS. |
| Moderate | Forests are drying. The risk of a wildfire is increasing. CAUTION should be used during any activity on forested land. A Permit to Burn is required to burn grass, brush and/or other materials. Open fires (e.g. campfires) within 300 metres of forested land are permitted under CONDITIONS. |
| High | The threat of a wildfire is increasing. EXTREME CAUTION should be used during any activity on forested land (e.g. ATV use, operating machinery). Permits to Burn are CANCELLED. Open fires (e.g. campfires) within 300 metres of forested land are permitted under CONDITIONS. |
| Very High | The threat of a wildfire is very high. Access to forested areas may be closed. EXTREME CAUTION is required for any activity on forested land (e.g. ATV use, operating machinery). OPEN FIRES AND OUTDOOR BURNING ARE BANNED. Permits to Burn are CANCELLED. |
| Extreme | Forest conditions are dangerous. There is an extreme risk of fire. OPEN FIRES AND OUTDOOR BURNING ARE BANNED. Permits to Burn are CANCELLED. Access to forested areas may be closed. |
