The Comptroller General of Finance assists the Deputy Minister of Finance and Secretary to Treasury Board and has delegated responsibility, pursuant to the Financial Administration Act, for the administration and control of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Province with respect to the receipt and payment of public money, accounting policy, books of the Province, financial reporting, financial analysis, advice, internal auditing, banking and related matters. The Branch is also responsible for the administration, audit and collection of various provincial own-source taxation programs.
The Office of the Comptroller General consists of the following four divisions:
- Government Accounting Division
- Professional Services and Internal Audit Division
- Financial and Information Systems Division
- Tax Administration Division
