Index of Geoscience Maps and Surveys

Geoscience Indexes provide summaries of the spatial coverage of Geological Survey geoscience products: Bedrock Geology Maps, Surficial Geology Maps, Till Geochemical Surveys, other Geochemical Surveys (e.g., lake sediment, rock, soil, stream) and Airborne Geophysical Surveys. Query the survey polygons to access details and links to reports, maps and datasets.

There are two portals to access the Provincial index of public geoscience products:

1) Geoscience Atlas > Indexes group

View Indexes through the Geoscience Atlas of Newfoundland and Labrador

• Index of maps, reports and data
• Link to maps and reports online
• View, query, print and download Indexes layers
• View, query, print, and download geoscience data: Bedrock Geology, Surficial Geology, Geochemistry and Geophysics, plus view ancillary layers (e.g., roads, transmission lines, UTM lines, etc.)

2) Index Application

• Index of maps, reports and data (may not be up-to-date)
• Link to maps and reports online
• View, query and print Index layers ONLY
• Works on mobile devices and tablets as well as desktop and laptop computers
