The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, on behalf of the Provincial Government and residents of the province, is offering condolences today to families, friends and teammates of the Humboldt Broncos, whose bus was involved in a tragic accident on April 6, 2018 in Saskatchewan.
Premier Ball is also offering support for the family and friends of Parker Tobin, whose parents are from Newfoundland and Labrador.
“Travelling by bus to sporting events is a rite of passage for many
young athletes and such trips are often great sources of team building and
bonding. A tragedy such as this is almost incomprehensible and on behalf of the
people of Newfoundland and Labrador, I offer my deepest condolences to all of
those impacted. For the community of Humboldt and the Province of Saskatchewan,
our thoughts and prayers are with you. For the family and friends of Parker
Tobin, whose life was lost in this tragedy, I can’t imagine the grief that you
are experiencing right now and I would like to let you know that the province
supports you during this difficult time.”
Honourable Dwight
Ball
Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador
To honour and remember those impacted, flags have been lowered to half-mast at Confederation Building in St. John’s.
As well, beginning tomorrow, Confederation Building will be lit in yellow and green to match the colours of the uniforms worn so proudly by team members of the Humboldt Broncos.
