  • Municipal Affairs and Environment

October 21, 2019

The following is being released on behalf of the Multi-Materials Stewardship Board:

As the provincial partner of Waste Reduction Week in Canada, the Multi-Materials Stewardship Board (MMSB) is proclaiming Waste Reduction Week from October 21 to 27, 2019 in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Each day of Waste Reduction Week in Canada has its own theme: A Circular Economy; Textiles; Champions and Innovators; Plastics and Packaging; Food Waste; Swap, Share, Repair; and E-waste. MMSB will be supporting the overall message through a social media public awareness campaign highlighting provincial waste reduction initiatives on each theme day.

Individuals, businesses and schools throughout the province are also encouraged to proclaim October 21-27, 2019 as Waste Reduction Week in Canada and share how they are reducing and rethinking waste in Newfoundland and Labrador.
