The following statement was issued today by the Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minster of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation:

Along with my colleagues in the House of Assembly, I offer our sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Larry Dohey.

Mr. Dohey certainly left his mark. A true ambassador of our province, he loved sharing tidbits of the past, its magical stories and turning them into treasured experiences at The Rooms. He was well-known for his wealth of anecdotes, his knowledge of traditions, and his in-depth knowledge of Newfoundland and Labrador’s history. Larry was passionate about this province; he made us all feel so proud about this place, who we are, and where we all came from.

On behalf of all residents of the province, I hope Larry’s friends and family find solace in the fact that he was charming, witty and kind.

Larry Dohey will certainly be missed.
