The Honourable Derek Bennett, Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Municipalities, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Foxtrap Pasture Land Road Quarry                                     (Reg. 2103)
Proponent: C. W. Parsons Limited

The proponent is proposing to develop a 1.81-hectare sand and rock quarry on Pasture Land Road, near the Foxtrap Access Road, in the City of St. John’s. Development will include vegetation clearing, grubbing, and stripping and stockpiling of topsoil for reclamation. Quarry operations will include drilling, blasting, crushing and stockpiling of aggregate material.

The undertaking was registered on October 7, 2020; the deadline for public comments is November 12, 2020; and the minister’s decision is due by November 21, 2020.

MINISTER’S DECISION EXTENDED:

Upper Humber River Vegetable Farm                                      (Reg. 2098)
Proponent: Riverside Farms 

The Department of Environment, Climate Change and Municipalities and the proponent have agreed to extend the deadline for the minister’s decision to October 19, 2020.
