The Honourable Derek Bennett, Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Municipalities, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.
UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:
Appleton Mineral Exploration (Reg. 2106)
Proponent: New Found Gold Corp.
The proponent is proposing to complete mineral exploration activities including geochemical and geophysical surveys on the ground and from the air, prospecting, mapping, geological studies and core drilling at the Queensway Gold Project near Appleton. To complete the core drilling activities, drill pads and access trails would need to be constructed by clearing the trees and brush.
The undertaking was registered on October 30, 2020; the deadline for public comments is December 4, 2020; and the minister’s decision is due by December 14, 2020.
