November 10, 2020

The Honourable Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will attend the Royal Canadian Legion Remembrance Day ceremony tomorrow (Wednesday, November 11). The ceremony is being held at the National War Memorial in St. John’s starting at 10:55 a.m.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a small ceremony is being held that is not open to the public. However, the event will be livestreamed on Facebook.

To allow residents to safely pay their respects and to recognize this important day, this year citizens are asked to observe a moment of silence outside their front doors at 11:00 a.m. The Legion is also encouraging residents to celebrate ‘Remembrance Day at Home’ by wearing a poppy and decorating their windows and doors with poppies.
