The annual Christmas lights celebration at Confederation Building Complex will take place on Thursday, December 3, beginning at 5:15 p.m. The event will see approximately 60,000 LED lights illuminate the Confederation Building Christmas tree and other trees along Prince Philip Drive.

The Honourable Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Honourable Derrick Bragg, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, will join special guests, six-year old Abigale Latoszek and five-year-old Ethan Hoskins, to switch on the lights on Confederation Hill.

The Provincial Government is pleased to welcome local musicians Fortunate Ones and the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band to provide entertainment.

This year’s event will be live-streamed on the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Facebook page. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will not be a public gathering and residents are encouraged to watch from their own homes.

Premier Furey and Minister Bragg are also inviting municipalities, businesses and residents from across the province to join in by lighting up their own lights at 5:45 p.m. NST on Thursday as well.
