December 7, 2020

The Honourable Elvis Loveless, Minister of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture, today announced a new digital service option for residents wishing to book online appointments with the Crown Lands Division.

Clients may access the Crown Lands Appointment Booker to schedule an online appointment to:

  • Receive assistance completing non-routine applications for Crown Lands, such as those under Section 36 of the Lands Act;
  • Receive information regarding a specific application;
  • Be instructed on the use of the Land Use Atlas; or
  • Discuss a complaint (note: complaints must be submitted in writing).

While some in-person appointments are being scheduled, the majority are being conducted virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Clients may also visit Digital Government and Online Services to pay annual invoices and application fees for Crown Lands. More information on the Crown Lands application process is available on the department website, by calling 1-833-891-3249, or emailing crownlandsinfo@gov.nl.ca.

Since the introduction of a five-year Digital Government Plan in 2018, the Provincial Government has progressively transformed the way services are delivered in Newfoundland and Labrador. Online service options have been useful in complementing traditional services during the COVID-19 pandemic, and increased access to Crown Lands resources is in line with the digital government response to the public health emergency.
