As requested by the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Statutory Review Committee, the Provincial Government is extending the committee’s reporting deadline to March 31, 2021 from December 31, 2020.

Due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the deadline for the final report and recommendations is extended to allow sufficient time for the review of research material and a cost analysis of potential recommendations.

The committee is undertaking a review of the workers’ compensation system to identify ways to ensure efficiency in the review process, balance in the provision of benefits, and financial sustainability. The statutory review process is essential to maintaining a strong workers’ compensation system.
