Media Advisory: Minister Abbott to Recognize International Day of Persons with Disabilities

The Honourable John G. Abbott, Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, will participate in a number events in recognition of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities tomorrow (Friday, December 3).

At 9:30 a.m., Minister Abbott will join representatives from the Provincial Advisory Council for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, the Network of Disability Organizations, and the community of persons with disabilities, to sign the proclamation for International Day of Persons with Disabilities. He will also make an announcement regarding the province’s new Accessibility Act.

The event takes place at the Emera Innovation Exchange, B2007, 100 Signal Hill Rd, St. John’s.

At 11:00 a.m., Minister Abbott will bring greetings at a ceremony to celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities and Empower NL’s annual Independent Living Awards at Government House, 50 Military Road, St. John’s.
