Officials of Digital Government and Service NL are aware of technical issues being experienced by those attempting to download the province’s proof of vaccination record QR code (vaccine passport). This is due to the extremely high volume of requests.

There has been an incredible response to the vaccine passport. Almost 40,000 QR codes were issued as of 9:00 a.m. (approximately 600 per minute) and the NLVaxPass app was the number one free app downloaded from Google and Apple this morning.

To meet this high demand, the system is temporarily unavailable this afternoon in order to make some necessary adjustments.

Residents are reminded that the vaccine passport does not become mandatory until October 22, therefore it does not have to be downloaded and used today.
