Public Advisory: Occupational Health and Safety Charges Laid Against Contractor

Wareham and Sons Ltd. of Gander has been charged with violations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations in relation to an incident that occurred in November 2019 during the installation of a traffic sign near the Trans-Canada Highway in Gander.

The charges stem from non-compliance to occupational health and safety orders written in relation to an investigation by the Occupational Health and Safety Division.

Wareham and Sons Ltd. is charged with the alleged failure to reasonably help an Occupational Health and Safety Officer to carry out his or her duties and functions under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and to provide the information that the officer reasonably required.

The company’s court first appearance is scheduled for February 1, 2022 at Provincial Court in Gander.
