April 1, 2021

Starting today (Thursday, April 1), applications are now open for the K- 6 Mathematics Bursary Program and the Reading Bursary Program for Spring, Intercession and Summer 2021.

These bursary programs provide funding that teachers, administrators and substitute teachers may use to recover course costs and related expenses for successfully completing pre-approved bursary-eligible courses. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2021.

The K-6 Math Bursary Program is available for primary and elementary teachers to build capacity and to enhance math instruction within provincial primary and elementary schools. Teachers availing of this bursary can take either a mathematics pedagogy course or a mathematics content course that will enhance their skills and confidence in teaching the subject.

The Reading Bursary Program is available for teachers and administrators enrolled in the graduate diploma program in Reading Development and Instruction at Memorial University of Newfoundland. The diploma program is intended for educators that want to further develop their professional learning and deepen their understanding of reading development in order to better support classroom-wide instruction, including the instruction of children who experience reading difficulty.
