Applications are now being accepted for the Winter 2022 semester for the K-6 Mathematics Bursary. The deadline for winter applications is February 28, 2022.
Through the Education Action Plan, bursaries are offered to K-6 teachers to build capacity and to enhance math education in primary and elementary schools.
The Department of Education welcomes applications from administrators and teachers who work with K-6 students, including replacement and substitute teachers. More information on the bursary program, including the application form, can be found here.
Enhancing mathematics is a key ongoing focus area of Education Action Plan. Since 2018, more than $250,000 has been invested in mathematics professional learning opportunities for educators, including $57,500 in bursaries for almost 100 K-6 teachers.
Quote
“I encourage primary and elementary teachers and administrators throughout the province looking to enhance their knowledge and skills in mathematics to take advantage of professional learning opportunities through the bursary. Teachers achieving a greater skill level and comfort in teaching mathematics further develop effective instructional strategies and attain a better understanding of how students learn.”
