Election Writs Issued for Newfoundland and Labrador’s 2021 Provincial General Election

Mr. Bruce Chaulk, Chief Electoral Officer of Newfoundland and Labrador, will issue election writs to all 40 district Returning Officers this evening. The general election will take place on Saturday, February 13, 2021.

The following key dates apply to this election:

  • Election Day – Saturday, February 13. Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
  • Advance Poll – Saturday, February 6. Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
  • Deadline for Candidate Nominations – Saturday, January 23 at 2:00 p.m.

All times listed above are half an hour earlier in most of Labrador.

Electors are encouraged to visit the Elections Newfoundland and Labrador website (www.elections.gov.nl.ca) for information pertaining to mail-in voting, early voting, voting qualifications, Election Day voting locations, Advance Poll locations and more.
