Newfoundland and Labrador’s Chief Electoral Officer, Bruce Chaulk, wishes to advise electors in the district of Carbonear – Trinity – Bay de Verde that effective today (Wednesday, January 27) the Special Ballot Office in Carbonear will be closed.

The closure results from numerous complaints from one of the political parties on the proximity of the Special Ballot office to the constituency office of the current Member of the House of Assembly.

The site was originally chosen due to a lack of available and accessible rental space in the area.

Electors in Carbonear who wish to vote by Special Ballot in person may travel to Western Bay, or another Special Ballot office in a neighboring district, to vote.
