Media Advisory: Details on Swearing-in Ceremonies for Premier Furey and Cabinet

Members of the media are advised that Premier Andrew Furey will be sworn in at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday, April 8) at Government House.

Media representatives planning to cover the ceremony are asked to be in place by 8:30 a.m. An audio feed and a video feed will be provided.

8:30 a.m. Media representatives in place
9:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Swearing-in ceremony

Members of the media are also advised that there will be a cabinet swearing-in ceremony tomorrow (Thursday, April 8) at 11:00 a.m. at Government House. Media representatives planning to cover the ceremony are asked to be in place by 10:30 a.m. An audio feed and a video feed will be provided.

10:00 a.m. Area available for setup
10:30 a.m. Media representatives in place
11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (approx.) Swearing-in ceremony

Note that due to space restrictions and public health guidelines related to COVID-19, only one media representative per outlet will be permitted to attend the swearing-in ceremonies.

Both ceremonies will be livestreamed on the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Facebook and Twitter accounts and on YouTube.

Premier Furey and cabinet will be available for questions after the cabinet swearing-in ceremony. A pool audio and video feed will be provided for the media availability.

Media planning to attend must register by contacting Meghan McCabe (meghanmccabe@gov.nl.ca). Physical distancing measures will be in effect during both ceremonies for those attending.
