Media Advisory: Premier Furey to Address MNL Conference and Premier’s Forum on Local Government

The Honourable Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will address the Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador (MNL) Appreciation Banquet and Presentation of Long Service Awards, this evening (Friday, November 5) at 6:30 p.m. at the Corner Brook Civic Centre. The banquet is part of the 71st Annual MNL Conference and Trade Show.

On Saturday, November 6, Premier Furey will address delegates to the Premier’s Forum on Local Government at 8:30 a.m., in the Studio Room of the Civic Centre. The Premier’s Forum invites selected municipal delegates and administrators from communities throughout the province to come together to discuss issues related to local governance. The topic this year is regionalization.

Premier Furey will be joined by the Honourable Krista Lynn Howell, Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs, who will deliver remarks to the Conference on Saturday, November 6 at 12:00 noon.

Also attending the event is the Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister Responsible for Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation and Minister Responsible for Labrador Affairs, the Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills, and the Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation.
