Public Advisory: Second Call for Proposals for Secondary Forestry Processing Innovation Projects

The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture is issuing a second call for proposals for the development of secondary forestry processing innovation projects.

This initiative, announced on June 12, 2020, is providing $400,000 to support up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs, for approved business proposals, up to a maximum of $100,000. The first call for proposals closed in October 2020, with the successful applicants to be announced in the near future.

Project proposals must include introduction of innovative products, or commencement of secondary processing that primarily utilizes locally grown wood. Project applications may include finished products, such as engineered wood products, millwork, cabinets, furniture, pallets, containers, and other wood products or applications involving the use of remanufactured wood products.

The application form is available at the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture website.
