Public Advisory: Timber Being Moved to Happy Valley-Goose Bay Dock for Shipment

  • Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture

November 12, 2021

Timber salvaged during the Muskrat Falls development project currently stored at wood yards in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area is now being trucked to Woodward’s Dock for storage and shipment out of the province in the coming weeks.

JP Forestry Limited has been provided the necessary approvals by the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture to access and transport the timber in preparation for shipping.

Local residents are encouraged to be vigilant when using Hamilton River Road over the next week as wood trucks will be using this roadway to transport timber to Woodward’s Dock.

Muskrat Falls salvaged timber remains available for domestic use and can be accessed by obtaining a permit free-of-charge from the North West River Forestry and Wildlife district office or the Happy Valley-Goose Bay regional office.

For more information, please contact the North West River office at 709-497-8479 or 709-897-7116, or the Happy Valley-Goose Bay office at 709-896-3405.
