Public Advisory: Reminder All Travellers Need to Fill Out Travel Form

October 21, 2021

All travellers to Newfoundland and Labrador, including Newfoundland and Labrador residents, are required to fill out a travel form found here. We ask for patience and kindness to be shown to our points of entry staff, airport staff, and Marine Atlantic, as they work to ensure the safety of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians and those travelling to the province.

The travel form can be completed up to 30 days prior to the travel date. Please submit proof of your COVID-19 vaccination by uploading it to your form. Anyone partially vaccinated has the same requirements as an unvaccinated traveller. Further information for those travelling to the province, including isolation and testing requirements, can be found here.

On the travel form, travellers will have to provide travel details, such as expected arrival date, arrival type and where you started your travel. For example, if you are from Newfoundland and Labrador and travelling to Alberta and returning to the province, your start of travel back to the province would be Alberta, regardless of stop overs. Travellers will also have to provide contact information, vaccination status, proof of vaccination and self-isolation details, if necessary.

Once you complete the travel form you will receive a reference number via your preferred method of communication, either email or text. This, along with a piece of identification, will be required when you arrive in the province. The travel form is only required for those 12 years of age and older. Children under 12 are not required to complete their own travel form unless they are traveling alone without a parent or guardian. Parents/Guardians should fill out this form on behalf of children under the age of 16.

If you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or do not have proof that you are fully vaccinated with a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine, you are required to self-isolate. You can avail of a modified self-isolation period with receipt of a negative COVID-19 test taken no earlier than day 7 of your self-isolation period.

It is important to note that the travel form process is different from the NL Vax Pass as the travel form provides important information required by Public Health to ensure the safety of those travelling into the province. The NL Vax Pass does not replace the travel form.

People are encouraged to download COVID Alert to help reduce the spread of the virus. It is available free through the Apple or Google Play app stores.
