The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister Responsible for Labrador Affairs, on behalf of the Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology, will join Yvonne Jones, Member of Parliament for Labrador, on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA, for a significant announcement related to the mining industry on Tuesday, July 20.

The event takes place at the Iron Ore Company of Canada office, 2 Avalon Drive, Labrador City, at 1:15 p.m. AST.

Minister Dempster and MP Jones will be joined by Liz Kidd, President and CEO of College of the North Atlantic.

Due to the event location near the mine, all media will be provided with personal protective equipment at arrival. Upon registration, media will be provided with a COVID questionnaire and an online safety induction which must be completed 24-48 hours in advance of the event.

Public health protocols will be in effect.
