The Honourable Krista Lynn Howell, Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs, will hold a news conference tomorrow (Tuesday, October 26) to announce details of the proposed new Municipal Conduct Act. The event will take place at 12:00 p.m. at the Media Centre, East Block, Confederation Building.

Minister Howell will be joined by Amy Coady, President of Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador, and Brian Hudson, President of the Professional Municipal Administrators.

The news conference will be live-streamed on the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts.

Media covering the news conference will have the opportunity to join in person in the Media Centre or by teleconference. Media planning to participate should register with Lynn Robinson (lynnrobinson@gov.nl.ca) by 9:00 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, October 26).

Technical briefing
Prior to the announcement, a technical briefing for media will take place at 11:00 a.m.

Media participating in the briefing will also have the opportunity to join in person in the Media Centre or by teleconference and should register with Lynn Robinson (lynnrobinson@gov.nl.ca), who will provide the required information.

Media must join the teleconference at 10:45 a.m. (NST) to be included on the call. For sound quality purposes, registered media are asked to use a land line if at all possible.
