Applications Being Accepted for Community Healthy Living Fund

The Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation, today announced a call for applications for community-based projects, programs and initiatives that qualify for funding through the Community Healthy Living Fund.

The fund provides support to communities and community-based organizations for projects, programs and initiatives that support active healthy living. Funding falls under the categories of capacity building, programs and supportive environments.

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis up to December 31, 2021, and applications must comply with public health guidance related to COVID-19.

Programs and initiatives should be inclusive and accessible to individuals of all ages and abilities. In 2020-21, 410 projects received funding under the Community Healthy Living Fund including the purchase of new playground equipment for students at St. James Elementary in Port aux Basques and support for the Town of Indian Bay in the operation of their 2021 Summer Recreation Program.
