The westbound lanes of Pitts Memorial Drive’s CN Viaduct leading from downtown St. John’s will be temporarily closed tomorrow (Tuesday, March 23) beginning at 8:00 p.m. for the bridge deck to be lifted for concrete repairs.

The department anticipates the lanes reopening by 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 24.

During this time, motorists will be required to use an alternate route. The closure is necessary to ensure the safety of motorists travelling in the area and crews working on the viaduct. There will be no disruption to traffic heading into the downtown area in the eastbound lanes.
