Public Advisory: Repairs Beginning on Trans-Canada Highway Washout near Springdale

Repairs are beginning today to reopen the Trans-Canada Highway approximately seven kilometres west of Springdale, which was washed out overnight due to heavy rains in the area.

Contractors and engineers from the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure are on site today assessing the damage. A new culvert and heavy equipment to prepare the area for the culvert installation are expected to arrrive this afternoon.

The department is currently assessing options to have traffic moving through the area while repairs are ongoing.

The department anticipates repairs being completed later this week. Updates will be provided as they become available.
