A contract valued at $1.5 million has been awarded to Complete Concrete Solutions Ltd to repair three bridges in Labrador.

The contract includes work to:

  • Repair concrete joints and replace structural steel and floor joists on Goose River Bridge on Route 520;
  • Replace asphalt with new pavement leading to the Munik Pone (Pinus River) Memorial Bridge and complete bridge concrete repairs (Route 500); and
  • Replace the concrete surface and expansion joints on the Miron River Bridge (Route 500).

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure anticipates work to be completed during this highway construction season. Motorists should anticipate some traffic delays at each location while work is ongoing.

In addition to the bridge repair contract, the department anticipates inspection, condition assessment, and detailed evaluation of the Brinco and Pinware River bridges to be performed this construction season. CBCL Limited was awarded a contract in December 2020 valued at approximately $500,000 to assess the two bridges during summer of 2021.
