  • Transportation and Infrastructure

September 15, 2021

Repairs are underway to roads on the Avalon Peninsula damaged by Hurricane Larry on September 18.

Crews are mobilizing to Route 92 (North Harbour Road), Route 92-11 (Lower Road), and Route 93-13 (Harricott Road) to complete repairs.

Crews and heavy equipment are also mobilizing to Route 90 at St. Vincent’s today for repairs to begin tomorrow, September 16.

While repairs are ongoing, crews in the area will begin allowing traffic through Route 90 at St. Vincent’s as soon as it is safe to reopen to traffic. The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure anticipates repairs being completed next week.

The repairs are part of contract to Farrell’s Excavating to upgrade and pave Route 92 near North Harbour, a section of Route 100, and Route 100-14. As work is underway on this project, the contract, which was awarded earlier this summer, has been amended to include repairs to roads in the area damaged during the hurricane.Details on all construction on provincial highways where motorists can expect traffic delays is available at nl511.ca and the 511 smartphone app.
