The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Barr’d Harbour Breakwater                                                           (Reg. 2196)
Proponent: Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Small Craft Harbours
The proponent is proposing the construction of a breakwater approximately 130 metres long by 20 metres wide to provide protection of an existing wharf in Barr’d Harbour on the Great Northern Peninsula. An area adjacent to the breakwater will be graded to provide safe vehicle access for launching small vessels. The project site is located within the community of Barr’d Harbour approximately 17 kilometres Northeast of Port Aux Choix (Route 430). The undertaking was registered on April 20, 2022; the deadline for public comments is May 27, 2022; and the minister’s decision is due by June 4, 2022.
