UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Springdale Junction Agriculture Development                                 (Reg. 2215)
Proponent: Michael Warren

The proponent proposes to develop 7.2 hectares of land at Springdale Junction, Route 390. The farmland will be cleared and put into production for agriculture root crops. A description of the project can be found on the department’s webpage at: www.gov.nl.ca/eccm/env-assessment/projects-list/.

The undertaking was registered on August 25, 2022; the deadline for public comments is September 30, 2022; and the minister’s decision is due by October 9, 2022.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PLAN APPROVED:

Valentine Gold Project                                                                             (Reg. 2015)
Proponent: Marathon Gold Corporation

On August 25, 2022, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change approved the Environmental Protection Plan for the construction of the Valentine Gold Project. Approval of the plan is a condition of release from environmental assessment. The plan is available on the Department’s project web page at: www.gov.nl.ca/ecc/projects/project-2015/.
