Student Applications Open for French Summer Programs

Applications are now being accepted for Grade 9 and 10 students French Summer Programs. These programs provide students, in Core French or Immersion, the opportunity to discover French culture in Canada.

The summer programs are funded through an investment of $600,000 from the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Agreement on Minority-Language Education and Second Official-Language Instruction.

Since 2004, more than 3,000 Grade 9 and 10 students have participated in these programs.

Grade 9 students can apply for a bursary to attend a three week in-person program or a one week virtual program offered through Campus Notre-Dame-du-Foy at Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec. Grade 10 or level one students can apply for a bursary to attend a four week in-person summer program offered by Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier at Laval University Campus, Quebec City.

The deadline for applications is March 4, 2022. More information on the bursaries, including the application, can be found here, or by emailing brigitteallain@gov.nl.ca.
